The Bills have won their past two contests and their win in New York last week was their first victory on the road in prime time in the past 14 years. They’ll be going for two straight under the lights on Monday night as they attempt to become the first team to beat the Patriots this season. This will be the Bills’ first appearance on Monday Night Football since losing to the Patriots in their 2009 season opener. They’ll have a chance to upset New England if they can muster up another fine defensive performance like the one they displayed against the Jets.

The Bills recorded a pair of interceptions last week, recovered a fumble, and managed to stop New York while they were inside the Buffalo 10-yard line late in the game. The Bills have their work cut out for them since the Patriots lead the league in offense with an average of 418.7 yards per outing. However, New England will be without receiver Julian Edelman as he’s on the shelf with a broken foot which was suffered against the Giants. Edelman was leading the Patriots this year with 639 yards on 57 receptions along with seven touchdowns.

New England had their way against the Bills earlier this season in a 40-32 win when they gained 507 yards with quarterback Tom Brady earning 466 of them with his passing skills. It was the second-highest total of Brady’s long, legendary career. The Bills will need big games from LeSean McCoy and Karlos Williams again this weekend. Williams has scored a touchdown in every one of his first six contests and McCoy ran for 112 yards last week and caught for another 47. Buffalo is 6-4 against the spread in their past 10 visits to New England.

The Patriots won a close encounter against the Giants last week when Stephen Gostkowski booted a last-second 54-yard field goal for their 27-26 victory. New England reached the 9-0 mark for the first time since the 2007 season with that win. It’s also just the second time in club history they’ve gone 9-0. The Patriots have been successful due to Brady and their powerful offense as the squad averages a league-high 33.7 points a game this year. Brady went 26 for 42 in passing last week for 334 yards. He threw for a pair of touchdowns and was picked off once. Rob Gronkowski caught five of Brady’s tosses for a touchdown and 113 yards and recorded a career high with the 76-yard touchdown reception. Danny Amendola chipped in with 76 yards in the air and the Patriots lead the league with two dozen passing touchdowns so far this campaign.
